8-19-1914 Little Oak Tractor Article (West Central Tribune)

BIG INDUSTRY FOR WILLMAR

"Little Oak Tractor" Company Of Twin Cities Will Locate Here.

A deal has been closed by which the Humber-Anderson Manufacturing Co. of St. Paul and Minneapolis will locate their factory for the manufacture of "Little Oak" tractors at Willmar. This company is organized with an authorized capital of $500,00 and have built a number of their machines which are now in use. J.F. Anderson is the patentee and president of the company. The name of the company will be changed to the Willmar Tractor Manufacturing Co., and the local parties interested are Swan Anderson (the meat dealer), Andrew Bjorsell, C.B. Carlson, Jalmar Nyquist, E.C. Wellin and L.O. Thorpe. After Oct. 1, Mr. Bjorsell will be secretary of the company. The plant of Willmar machine & Foundry Co., will be put to work at once making the machines, the foundry probably starting within a week or two. An addition 60X70 feet will be built at once. After the State Fair the plant of the company will be moved to Willmar. It is expected that twenty-five or thirty men will be employed when the plant starts operations. Mr. Chas. Wallin as general sale-agent. The location of this industry here further emphasizes the advantages Willmar possesses for manufacturing plants. It's successful operation will mean much in the development of a greater Willmar.
