The reason we meet from time to time to show and pull classic tractors is to enjoy the fellowship and friendship of people who share an interest in preserving the past while having fun. The tractor pull will be successful as long as we place fellowship, friendship and enjoyment ahead of competition. These rules are intended to provide tractor pulls that are safe, fair, and enjoyable for all.
1. ENTRY- Tractors must be 1965 or older. All 2 cylinder J.D.’s allowed. Tractors may pull in two classes, once in each class.
2. MAXIMUM TIRE SIZE – 0-4500# class 170 sq. in: 13.6x38-168 sq. in; 14.9x28-170 sq. in.; 4501-6500# class 229 sq. in: 14.9x38-200 sq. in.; 15.5x38-189 sq. in .; 16.9x34-229 sq. in.; 6501-10,500# class 300 sq. in.: 18.4x38-300 sq. in.; 16.9x38-252 sq. in.; 18.4x28-250 sq. in. Maximum Tire Size of 38”. NO CUT TIRES. NO RADIAL TIRES
3. RIMS AND WHEELS – Tires must be on rim width not exceeding tire manufacturers recommended width. Stamped Steel rims are allowed. No chrome or aluminum wheels allowed.
4. SPEED – Any gear, speed limit is 3 MPH. Torques may be used. Only one warning horn the first 75 feet will be allowed, any horns after that the puller is disqualified. USE OF GPS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.
5.WEIGHTS – Suitcase weights and custom made weight brackets are permitted. Front weight bracket and weights to extend no farther than 11 feet from center of rear axle. Weights may not extend behind rear tires. (Exception: On standard tractors the weights cannot exceed the plain of the rear fender).
6. ENGINE – Stock block, naturally aspirated. Exceptions: Oliver 99 GM, etc. Stock head, manifold, and carburetor (by part number). Manifolds are to be replacement manufactured parts accepted for that make and model tractor. . Stock RPM Engine parts not in parts book or replacement parts book for the specific tractor cannot be used. Exception: Distributors can be used on Antique tractors. A factory coil must be used.
7. DRAW BAR – Draw bars must not exceed 20 inches in height or be less than 18 inches from center of axle to hooking point. No part of draw bar may extend rearward beyond point of hook. Draw bars must be stationary in all directions and have a minimum of 3” hole or clevis.
8. ANY ITEMS – Which fall off the tractor during the pull, will disqualify you
9. DRIVERS – Must be 16 years of age or older and not intoxicated. No ALCOHOL in the Pitt Area, PLEASE!!!
10. APPEARANCE – Tractors must maintain original stock appearance. If a part is not found in the manufacturer’s parts book it cannot be used. No extra accessories allowed with the exception of weight brackets, hang-on weights, wheelie bars, wheels, rims, bolt on hubs, draw bar, muffler and air cleaner. Battery boxes may be moved from stock mounting location. No chrome allowed except for exhaust pipes. No homemade rear end covers allowed. All guards, shrouds, covers and shields shall be in place as from the factory and be made of original material (steel or iron) and as near like factory as possible. Seat must be an original seat or a manufactured seat made for a farm tractor placed with stock mountings (such as TSC). Alternators and Straight Pipes are allowed.
11. REGISTRATION AND WEIGH IN – Begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 11:30AM. Pull starts at 12:00 NOON SHARP!!!
12. COST - $15 per hook.
